Meeting with Dads at Ashby Ivanhoe FC has been really insightful. Many told me how they would have loved to spend more time at home during those first few months, being around for more of those early milestones. I want Dads to know that what they do is appreciated and celebrate their role in the family.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend a Leicestershire Resilience Forum test exercise to observe ghe response of all our Emergency Services to a major incident on the M1.
I wanted to pay tribute to our first responders in the house following this exercise and the amazing work they do to keep us all safe.

Stop building on flood plains and dredge rivers properly. Disband EA together with Natural England and have one organisation under DEFRA.

We are fixing our broken immigration system, removing those with no legal right to remain in this country and tackling the source of the horrific people smuggling trade.
Today, we are also introducing stricter laws to crack down on illegal working. This means that all companies must conduct proper eligibility checks or face fines and potential prison time. You can read more here: shorturl.at/hZ4N0 ... See MoreSee Less

All this criticism, seems like people quickly forget about the Rwanda fiasco news.sky.com/story/amp/cost-of-stalled-rwanda-asylum-scheme-could-soar-to-500m-watchdog-says-1308...
Can you confirm only 6,000 of these were actually forced?? I've read that the majority left of their own accord..??
There is one very simple way to spend less on accommodation for asylum seekers - Please PLEASE Amanda, speed up the process by which their claims are heard. By all means return those who do not have a genuine claim, and do so quickly. But those who have a legitimate claim have no wish to be in Home Office accommodation or on benefits - they want to contribute to our society and become independent as soon as possible. For many of their countries of origin we have no returns agreement anyway, so paying vast sums to keep them - while they wait to be told they can stay - makes no sense on any level. We should be supporting them into work: there are many roles out there which we cannot currently fill. They could then be living productive lives and integrating into our society.

It doesn’t cover the tax rises. Car tax up, stamp duty up, employers NI Up and more… Now the wage has gone up businesses will be putting their prices up to cover the cost of everything, not rocket science. We are worse off!
Spoke to a lady today who’s had her business for years, she’s had to close her shop due to her business rates have doubled!!!
I think Labour are on a parallel universe to everyone else. All these so called rises have been completely wiped out with all the bills that have gone up today as well as the prices in the supermarket going up every week!! Never mind you and your party members won’t have to worry about prices you’ll be having your 2.8 pay rise shortly plus all these so called other perks you get🤬
