It was lovely visit to Broom Leys Primary School last week, which is one of the largest primary schools in the constituency.

During their visit to Parliament last year, I regrettably didn’t get the opportunity to meet the second Year 6 class to answer their questions, so it was a pleasure to finally meet them. They asked a number of fantastic questions about the environment and even whether I’d managed to meet The King yet!

I’m already looking forward to visiting again in the future and hosting other groups of children from the school in Parliament

Gaza children can't go to school because thanks to the IDF, UK and US their schools are all destroyed with many of the children and their families buried under the rubble. Your government and in oarticular Keir Starmer and David Lammy are war criminals and they know it. Furthermore they are criminals in this country according to our laws. You know all of this and stand with them. Israel is an Apartheid State according to the ICJ and the UNGA. There are 2 arrest warrants for Israeli war criminals in particular Netanyahu who is the Head of the first country that will be found guilty of genocide. Only God will help us all then.

Not so run down like Holy Cross is it...

Supermarkets claim to support UK farmers, yet their actions suggest otherwise.

Farmers and growers play a vital role in ensuring the UK’s food sustainability, yet they are not receiving a fair deal from the supermarkets. This situation has persisted for years and has gone unchallenged for far too long.

It is unjust that farmers often earn just 1p profit from the food items they produce, while supermarkets make excessive profits. This concern has been clearly communicated to me by our local farmers here in North West Leicestershire during several meetings with them.

Farmers deserve a fair deal, and consumers deserve honesty and transparency

Support Farmers to feed the country!!

I agree with what you say. Although admittedly it's not abundantly clear that the Labour Party (or the Conservative Party for that matter) support farmers either.

supermarkets turned many farms into slave workers especially after centralised functions such as the milk marketing board had been closed down allowing supermarkets to dictate prices despite in some cases paying less than it cost to produce the milk. Supermarkets have repeatedly made profits off the backs of its suppliers; many of these suppliers are bust and a number have taken their own lives having been bullied into a corner where they stood to lose everything!

I have co-signed Grahame Morris MP's letter to the Rt Hon Darren Jones MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, calling for urgent action to address the unfairness faced by members of the British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme (BCSSS).

Thanks to the Labour government’s historic decision to transfer the £1.5 billion Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme reserve, around 1,500 former miners and their families have already seen a much-needed boost to their pensions.

I am urging the government to:

✅Waive the final £2.3 billion payment from the BCSSS reserve, thereby ensuring fairer pensions for members who served in essential roles within the coal industry.

It’s time to deliver parity for everyone in our coalfield communities.

How about supporting the WASPI women?

Interesting that another local MP close to your constituency didn’t sign this in an area that was part of the mining industry. My dad worked in the pits for many years including Donisthorpe. Let’s hope the government do the right thing after all these years.

One of the few correct steps undertaken in the last budget and well overdue … I hope you adopt the same stance or even transact a stance to reverse the anticipated change in how pensions will be inherited … Not saying the decision should be completely reversed … But the blanket approach used by our Chancellor and Treasury is poorly advised And the same relates to Farming … and industry / profession which large portion of your constituency … they need your ear and support ..

Today, 80 years since Auschwitz was liberated, we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and all victims of the Nazis, as well as the victims of genocide in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Those dark days must drive us to build a brighter future.

It's so important that we remember this so that we learn from history. I do hope we learn especially in today's fractious protectionist world. Bless all the victims of this monstrous heinous crime against innocent victims.

Thanks to my grandad and his generation who served and he fought from 1939 with the BEF, Dunkirk, Raiding from home front, then Italy invasion, The Med. supplying partisans, D-Day and finally in 1946 in the Middle East. Fighting the tyranny in Europe; whilst my nan made planes in Birmingham and casings in Coventry as well as on the Land Army in Cambridgeshire or the buses in Dorset. This is what put a stop to the tyrannical Germans and their Nazi ideology. Being strong and true is the best defence.

and our current government supporting a current genocide, played out on our tv daily.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to my Solving the SEND crisis roundtable discussion today, including teachers, parents and SENCOs. We managed to discuss so many different areas and I will be submitting these as part of the call for evidence from the Education Select Committee.

If you couldn’t make it but still want to make your voice heard, you can read the themes for the inquiry at the link below and submit your own evidence before the 6th February: committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evidence/3517

A big thank you to SMB College Group for hosting us at the Stephenson Campus in Coalville.

How many WASPI women on here or in NWLare waiting for Amanda to share her thoughts now on WASPI women. After showing her support we are seeming to get silence. Good to see cross party support today for the first reading of the Waspi Bill. Sorry to use this post to get a message across. Emails not always answered apparently. Note that 10 Labour MPs have voted for the bill, can’t see Amanda’s name on that list. A massive Thankyou to LabourMP Bryan Leishman who has requested his Labour colleagues join him in supporting WASPi womens fight for the injustice to them proven by PHSO.

Such an important issue. Thanks for taking it up.

Thank you for having me along Amanda Hack MP. Such an amazing group of individuals and thought provoking discussion.

Is this really the best use of £9 billion. Are nuclear submarines really the future of war? Maybe a drone factory would be a better investment for 21 century war? How many council houses would £9 billion build? What will the decommissioning costs be. Having just heard about the cost of the 1400 tons of plutonium at Selafield. Very happy that the government is making investments but not all investments give good returns.

UK de-industrialisation is accelerating under the government's aim of net zero. For example, electricity unit cost is now 159% higher here than in the US. This Rolls-Royce success is a rare exception to the current trend in this country.

Feeding the war machine is not something to boast about. How about some plough shares?

I’m proud that this Labour Government can bring forward this important change which will make a material difference to those who choose to put their life on the line to protect our freedoms.

well let's just wait and see but please everyone do not hold your breath; remember they don't have any money.....apparently. Since 1979 welcome to broken Britain almost 50 years of political incompetence and corruption not to mention illegal wars; thanks Tony, David, Theresha, Sunak and Starmer.

Bravo, excellent news as a veteran we are honoured and I am sure serving members will be very grateful and at last what they needed

Shame you didn’t back and vote for other things 😴

The House of Commons Education Select Committee recently launched a major new inquiry focused on finding solutions to the crisis in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision.

Following years of increasing demand for SEND support, the cross-party Committee will focus on how to stabilise the system in the short term and achieve long term sustainability with improved outcomes for children and young people. The inquiry will examine every phase of education and development.

This weekend I am hosting a roundtable discussion with parents and stakeholders to then submit evidence to the inquiry. Spaces are very limited for this discussion so if you wish to attend please submit an expression of interest here: www.amandahack.com/solving-the-send-crisis/

If you can’t make it but still want to make your voice heard, you can read the themes for the inquiry at the link below and submit your own evidence: committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evidence/3517

Priority will be given to constituents and people who have been in touch with my office about this issue.
