Amanda Hack Wishes Constituents a Merry Christmas
The festive season is here, and I’d like to send best wishes to you and your loved ones. Christmas is a time to reflect and share in the love of family and friends while remembering those who are no longer with us.
Being your Member of Parliament is an honour for which I am deeply grateful. So far, it’s been an exhilarating experience. Since my election in July, I’ve received over 10,000 inquiries and comments. Responding to your requests for help and championing North West Leicestershire at Westminster are my top priorities. Thank you to everyone who has been in touch.
Over the last five months, I’ve held nineteen constituency surgeries and attended more than one hundred local meetings and events. I’m pleased to report that my office is now fully staffed, and I have a dedicated team here in the constituency to support your needs.
I’m working to improve public transport, clean up our waterways, and secure more accessible health services. I will keep advocating for the resources needed to enhance well-being in our towns and villages. Please share your experiences and ideas so we can deliver the change North West Leicestershire needs.
As we look to 2025, I want to build strong communities where we support each other and face the inevitable challenges together. I will listen to your hopes and expectations, and, whilst I cannot make every wish come true, I promise to work diligently on your behalf.
You can contact me via [email protected] or by post at 109 Belvoir Road, Coalville, LE67 3PH.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

I spoke recently about the importance of the new Deposit Return Scheme, highlighting the often overlooked work of our volunteer litter pickers, including Castle Donington Litter Wombles, who battle to keep our communities tidy.
Once the scheme launches in October 2027, there will be a financial incentive to return empty containers to a collection point, such as at local supermarkets, so that the bottle or can will be recycled.
This is a proven concept, used in over 50 countries to increase recycling rates and reduce littering.

Fair play Amanda but as a country Why are we getting excited ? This is all a big cover up since 2018 What about the 25 billion drinks containers alone being buried , burned or littered in the meantime until 2027, are we allowing this to just ‘ happen ‘? Pride in Britain or price in Britain ay ?
I hate all the litter. People shouldn't throw litter anywhere and if we see people doing it we certainly have a few words with them. But we are paying our council tax to collect our recyclable refuse. Why do you need to cart it to a recycling area at a supermarket? Again if people exercised their brains there wouldn't be any need for litter.
One mistake is categorising this material as waste. It should be regarded as valuable raw material. As such, recovering it in clean condition via a deposit scheme is much more efficient than scavenging it from roadside ditches.
It was lovely visit to Broom Leys Primary School last week, which is one of the largest primary schools in the constituency.
During their visit to Parliament last year, I regrettably didn’t get the opportunity to meet the second Year 6 class to answer their questions, so it was a pleasure to finally meet them. They asked a number of fantastic questions about the environment and even whether I’d managed to meet The King yet!
I’m already looking forward to visiting again in the future and hosting other groups of children from the school in Parliament

Gaza children can't go to school because thanks to the IDF, UK and US their schools are all destroyed with many of the children and their families buried under the rubble. Your government and in oarticular Keir Starmer and David Lammy are war criminals and they know it. Furthermore they are criminals in this country according to our laws. You know all of this and stand with them. Israel is an Apartheid State according to the ICJ and the UNGA. There are 2 arrest warrants for Israeli war criminals in particular Netanyahu who is the Head of the first country that will be found guilty of genocide. Only God will help us all then.
Not so run down like Holy Cross is it...
