Won't we need more dentists before they can offer more appointments or are the existing dentists offering more appointments. If its the latter why can't they do that now?

It’s been lovely spending time right across the constituency this week during Parliamentary recess. I’ve visited lots of different organisations and businesses.

Great to pop into a couple of our local libraries, cafes and hospitality venues alongside catching up with the local police force at the Measham beat surgery.

I’m sure you did a lot of good at the old mill. You’re not here to do sight seeing

is it ok to pop in sometime please

It is far too easy for young people to purchase knives online. That is why we are introducing stricter rules for online retailers selling knives, along with harsher penalties for failing to enforce them, as we pursue every avenue to protect young people from knife crime. Ronan's Law will:

1) Quadruple the sentence for selling weapons to under 18s
2) Require retailers to report suspicious knife purchases to the police
3) Make it a crime to possess a legal weapon with violent intent

Alongside this, in the spring, the Home Office intends to launch a consultation into a registration scheme for retailers in order to sell knives online.

Amanda why can't we just place a blanket ban on anything other than knives that are for everyday use? There shouldn't need to be a loophole to close just ban them all.

They can just get a knife from their own kitchen. How about tougher sentencing for knife attacks as a deterrent ? !

I was just discussing this last night Very pleased to hear some action is being taken. Good to see some legislation in this area!

Last week I joined an oral evidence session for the APPG for Pharmacies as part of their ongoing inquiry into medicine shortages.

The session heard from representatives from the Department of Health and Social Care, the Healthcare Distribution Association, Nuffield Trust, The British Generic Manufacturers Association (BGMA) and Diabetes UK.

The discussions from the meeting, alongside the findings from the written call for evidence, will inform the recommendations set to be published in the APPGs final report.

It’s a subject I have been vocal about since my days as a County Council Health Scrutiny member, when I was able to get a local explanation on medication shortages.
This was coupled with a Healthwatch paper on medication discharging from Hospitals.

So it was a useful exercise and look forward to my continued involvement in this APPG.

Biggest problem is lack of manufacturing in the UK as well as pricing of medicines from the Big Pharmas. Need to change the emphasis away from high prices to universal availability at prices affordable by all humans.

We've delivered our promise of 2 million more appointments in the NHS 7 months ahead of schedule, starting to get our NHS back on its feet and working for everyone.

It’s a huge step forward and it’s important to recognise the work that goes on across our NHS that has made this possible.

I'll keep working hard with our local NHS teams to improve services and support our community's healthcare needs.

A lovely day speaking to residents across North West Leicestershire. With teams out in #ashbydelazouch & #coalville

So many conversations on:

🚂 Great to update residents on my discussions with the Secretary of State for transport on Ivanhoe
🚧 Good to discuss the road network and will be writing to the County this week to follow up residents concerns
➡️ Important discussions on the progress on border security, with new measures introduced this week
*NHS* it wouldn’t be a door knock if we didn’t discuss the NHS. Glad to hear residents experiences are positive.

Great to see members and volunteers from across Leicestershire coming together to support,

I would also like to know when Amanda Hack MP is planning to visit Diseworth to talk to her constituents about the devastating effect the East Midlands Freeport will have on residents lives should it go ahead. Noise, light, air pollution, traffic, flooding, financial, mental health, destruction of wildlife habitats but to name a few. Your absence at the recent consultation meeting was noted by the hundreds of residents who attended.

MRS Hack was supposed to meeting with Castke Donington doctors surgery this week to discuss NHS services but meeting now cancelled. There is so much development around Diseworth and Castle Donington proposed and did she think that NW Leicestershire only centre's around Coalville? No issue with her visiting Coalville but we have huge issues here which are being bulldozed through. I'm sure she a nice lady but is she listening to us ? NO.

Amanda Hack MP is there to be any discussion on the fact with all the new developments and the increasing village populations why these developers do not consider new surgeries included in their applications instead of adding pressure on Castle Donington and Melbourne surgeries and the knock on effect to residents unable to get appointments. This also puts pressure on the NHS with people going to A&E just to be seen. This is an ongoing situation that MPs seem to ignore

It was a pleasure to be invited on ITV Central Lobby this week. During the discussion, Alison Mackenzie, surprised us all with the news that The Leader of the Opposition had not visited the Midlands during her first 100 days in office.

I could not let the Conservative panellist claim they are proud of our Industrial Heritage here in the Midlands following on from last weeks Coalfield debate..

Brilliant, keep it up you certainly had them on the run. They have never done anything for our district and never will.

Tories do not like industrial heritage - even shows up in Parliament 😥

Well challenged Amanda Hack MP 💪

This #NAW2025, we are going further and faster for growth.

This Government is creating apprenticeships for tens of thousands of young people by listening to business and taking the common-sense decision to cut red tape on English & maths requirements.

This means more learners can qualify in high demand sectors such as healthcare, social care and construction, helping to drive growth.

Definitely a good idea to scrap the compulsory English and Math. 👍

Why are you shutting down a much needed truck parking area in your constituency?. Is this part of The Labour Party plan that because farmed produce needs transporting then it just helps destroy the farming industry quicker?. Of is it because it's a labour thing that you and some councillors have a vested interest in the land and will benefit financially to push more transport workers into parking in laybys and industrial areas which are high crime and no basic toilet and wash facilities. Who do labour actually really represent?, as its not the elderly, it's not small business, it's not working folk. At present you're pretty much just red tie Torys, there has been no change in government what so ever.
